Susan Suss

Susan Suss is a leading media relations expert with experience designing and executing measurable communication programs that result in positive outcomes and align with an institution’s short and long-term marketing goals and growth strategies.  Susan’s philosophy is that “All Media is Global and All Global Media is Local.”

Susan brings to the table much more than the vast number of great contacts on her smart phone. She stays on top of timely issues; asks important questions and works in tandem with her clients to develop a distinctive point of view and voice for their news announcements.  She then pitches that content to the right journalists and influentials.

She consistently delivers national print, broadcast and digital media results for directors, CEOs and other key players at blue-chip corporations, professional service firms, local governments, as well as nonprofit organizations. Susan also makes sure those stories are shared on social media platforms, reach diverse constituencies and ultimately prep stakeholders for action.

Susan develops and executes media relations campaigns that leverage new research findings and thought leadership studies. She helps organizational experts provide timely response and commentary on critical global issues. Susan regularly generates coverage for clients in The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, Financial Times, USA Today, Business Week, Money, The Washington Post and The Economist.  Susan regularly works with consumer product, and leading edge technology companies, as well as universities and non-governmental organizations. She also provides counsel on risk, reputational and crisis situations.

She has been a top-rated strategist at global public relations agencies Ketchum and Hill & Knowlton, where she was senior vice president and director of the media group in New York.  She has been responsible for media strategy for multi-national corporations and their high-profile mergers and acquisitions.  She has provided counsel for American Express, Bain & Company, Chapman University, Electrolux, Experian, McKinsey & Company, Motorola, Nextel and the Navajo Nation.

Susan began her career in Washington, DC as Deputy Press Secretary for Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan.  She earned her bachelor’s degree at Wheaton College.
